The low country is host to a myriad of critters including the mighty alligator! Now you can take a tour that will allow you to see these creatures up close and personal AND in safety. Alligators Galore will take you on a nature tour to see lots of big gators and hundreds of birds in the wild. It’s a photographers’ paradise. The tours depart daily from the Tourist Center on River Street in Savannah, and you must phone to book a reservation. Tours are $30 for adults; $15 for kids 6-16; and kids under 6 are free. Tybee Vacation Rentals hosted a holiday open house and property owner’s reception in conjunction with the Tybee Island Shop and Stroll on December 6th from 3-7pm. The event was great fun! There was wonderful eats, great company, Santa, a free photo booth and the Tybee Arts Association also opened their special holiday art show upstairs.

There was a great turnout for the event… a wonderful mix of young and young at heart. If you attended or you just want some great laughs take a look at the photo gallery of pictures from the free photo booth. The owners put together a prop box so people could get wacky if they wanted and as you will see people took full advantage.

Watching Water Wasters

THE TOILET

Check for toilet leaks by adding food coloring to the tank. If the toilet is leaking, color will appear in the bowl within 30 minutes. Check the toilet for worn out, corroded, or bent parts. Avoid flushing the toilet unnecessarily. Dispose of tissues, insects and other similar waste in the trash rather than the toilet.

The Tybee Island Historical Society completed the Light Station complex when it finished the Assistant Keeper’s Cottage this week. It took about $2 million dollars, four major construction projects and 14 years to finish the 10-year plan. Tybee’s first annual Shop and Stroll was a smash success. What bargains! What fun! Every shop outdid themselves in presenting the best and brightest. Santa greeted everyone and Tybee Vacation Rentals’ picture booth was a hoot! The annual event was a smash success and next year will be even better. Plan on next year to  shop the shops, meet the neighbors, stop in the businesses for bargains and deals and eat and be merry. They’ll be santa, drawings for prizes and surprises.
