The Foody Tour

Do you love food? Like to try some of the out-of-the-way places in Savannah that have delectable fare? We have the tour for you! The Foody Tour takes you in an air-conditioned coach to no less than 7 different places for artesian baked goods and culinary traditions. Sample shrimp and grits, BBQ, fried green tomatoes, southern fried chicken, mac and cheese, chocolate truffles, cupcakes to name a few of the items offered AND get in to see Paula Deen’s restaurant and store (one of the samples is an item off of her buffet). Enjoy the narrated tour and fun guide has he tells you about Savannah’s rich culinary history, and tells you some of the city’s best kept secrets.

Savannah Craft Brew Fest this Labor Day Weekend

The Savannah CraftBrew Fest will be the area’s first-ever opportunity to experience a two-day festival devoted to the craft beer lover. Meet brewers from across the US while tasting premium craft beer on beautiful Savannah Harbor. This festival offers a Friday evening craft beer and food pairing dinner focusing on Georgia beer, with proceeds benefiting Senior Citizens, Inc. On Saturday, the grand tasting event kicks off with live musical performances and a full day of craft beer tasting on the Esplanade of the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center.

Oysters

          Oysters are not only delicious, but they’re also one of the most nutritionally well balanced of foods, containing protein, carbohydrates and lipids. The National Heart and Lung Institute suggest oysters as an ideal food for inclusion in low-cholesterol diets. Oysters are an excellent source of vitamins A, B1(thiamin), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), C (ascorbic acid) and D (calciferol). Four or five medium size oysters supply the recommended daily allowance of iron, copper, iodine, magnesium, calcium, zinc, manganese and phosphorus.
