Tybee has about five miles of clean beaches with lifeguards on duty in season. There are two public beaches: one located at the south end of the island and one at the north end.

Public Beach Locations. There are 5 miles of public beach, but two distinct areas are most frequented.
Beach Access for Wheelchairs. Enjoy our beach–we have several mobi-mats for wheelchairs, and 2 beach wheelchairs for your use.
Beach Rental Equipment. There are several companies on Tybee that for a fee will supply you with chairs, loungers, umbrellas, etc….
Beach Rules. – Tybee Island – Savannah’s beach, has a few rules for beach use. Also we ask that you not leave cigarette butts on the beach.
Showers on the Beach – We have foot showers at the 14th St., 15th, 16th St., 18th St. and Marine Science Center Cross-overs on the South End, and at the Gullick St. Cross-over on the North end.
