Girl Scout Tea
Want to do something different with your Girl Scout Troop while in Savannah? Bring them to historic Bryson Hall to meet “Juliet Gordon Low” and have her show them the etiquette of tea and serving it. In Juliet’s day, Savannahians had tea just about every afternoon and there was an art to it. The right cups, the right tea, the right way to serve it, the right way to drink it–these were important if you were to be accepted in local society. Let Tales of the South arrange a tea for your group which will include the tea and service, tea “sandwiches” for the children and others for the adults, a Juliet Gordon Low character, an interactive discussion about tea and the historic venue.
The Tea can be combined with the Savannah Safari Tour, which is an interactive walk through Savannah. The tour takes about 1 1/2 hours and the Scouts look for historic markers, fill in their souvenir book, and learn about history, Juliet Gordon Low’s town, and what the animal statues represent. This is a good way to combine history and the beauty of Savannah in a fun, interactive way for the students.
