Farmers’ Markets-Fresh/Organic Foods
Fresh is best! We have several fresh markets/farmers’ markets/produce stands where you can shop for the freshest fare. Here is a listing of them for 2010:
Farmers Market – at Forsyth Park; sponsored by the Savannah Local Food Collaborative – 9:00 am until 1:00 pm every Saturday. Fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, fresh flowers, and an edible-plant vendor.
Starland Farmers’ Market – W. 40th and Whitaker; Fresh local produce, arts and crafts, food, music and special events. Every Saturday morning from 9 am – 1 pm March through October.
Trustees Market – 10 E. Broad St.; handmade items, fresh organic food items, arts & crafts, music. Every Wed. from 4:00-7:00 pm and every Sat. from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Click here for more information: www.trusteesmarket.com
Davis Produce – 7755 E. Hwy 80 at Quarterman Dr. Fresh vegetables, fruits, plants, jarred specialties, honey, and so forth. They are known for going all over to find the best tomatoes.
Polk’s Produce & Floral - 530 E. Liberty in Savannah; 912-238-3032. Fresh vegetables and fruits; honey, jams, jellies, specialty items in jars, flowers, plants, unusual food fare.

We don’t have any “farmer’s markets” on Tybee. Sometimes we have a woman sell items on the roadside, but there’s nothing official. You can get great veggies/fruits and so forth at the IGA market.
