Feeling a little distracted by your same old daily routine? Call up a few of your finest girls for a weekend getaway! It’s time to relax, relate, and rejuvenate. A trip to the beach is always uplifting. Tybee Island is a great little beach with a laid back small town feel. Now ladies, all you need is a cozy place to catch up on old times and rest your beautiful heads. Tybee Vacation Rentals has many options available from 1to 6 bedrooms. Some are older beach cottages, some are large beautiful homes, and some are condos with a great view of the beach. Decide if you want a condo with a community pool or a house with a hot tub. There are plenty of options to choose from. Their staff is very helpful, and will be happy to assist you when booking your vacation. After you all arrive and get settled in, a great way to start your evening is to stop by the neighborhood grocery store for some quick breakfast items, snacks, and drinks so you won’t have to worry with this later. Then, make your way down to Cousin Vinnie’s for some good wholesome pasta, sandwiches, or pizza to fill your stomach up before you have a night on the town. Order an ice cold beer or margarita in a cup togo. Tybee is great for this. You can walk around with cocktails as long as it’s in a cup. No glass allowed on the streets, or you will be fined. The beach is just a couple of blocks away. So, grab your girls and enjoy a nice evening stroll to the pier. The Tybee Marine Science Museum, most of the restaurants, bars, and shops are all located here on the south end. Stop at Fannie’s on the Beach for some live entertainment, and enjoy people watching from one of the 3 levels. After you have finished touring for the night, go and get some rest for your next big day! After you all awake, eat a quick breakfast, and head to the beach. Go para sailing, ride jet skies, take a dolphin tour, explore Ft. Pulaski, and don’t forget to climb the lighthouse , and visit the museum. When your finished being adventurous, watch the sunset at Cafe Loco on their upper deck out on the creekside. The food is mouth watering, and the sunset on the water is downright gorgeous. Still feeling antsy? Get up and dance. Cafe Loco is known for having great live music. Now, it’s time to wind down and enjoy your rental property. Laugh with your girls until you’re all tired out, and sleep in late because you can. Vacations are wonderful for this alone. When you all decide to get out of the bed, make some coffee or tea, and get ready for a day of sightseeing in Savannah. First grab some lunch from The Crab Shack on your way off of Tybee. This restaurant is mostly outdoors and on the water. The crab stew and the seafood sampler platter is fabulous and plentiful. It has three tiki style bars, Jimmy Buffet melodies, baby gators, tropical birds, and lots of friendly cats. It is definately a unique experience. Once you’ve finished there, make your way to downtown Savannah. Go to Old Savannah Tours, and use the bus to take you around the city. Take a walk down the beautiful cobblestones on River Street. Do some shopping at the markets, antique stores, and the many other unique places along the way. Enjoy a horse & carriage ride through all the beautiful squares under the enchanting trees and spanish moss. Catch a great musical at the Savannah Theatre. Visit Sixth Sense, and take a ghost tour if you dare. Now, head back to the beach and settle down for a gourmet dinner in a casual setting at Sundae Cafe. Endulge yourselves in a nice bottle of wine and some homemade desserts. Then, get on back to your sleeping quarters and, enjoy chatting about how much fun you all had and start planning your return visit. I think Tybee Island is the perfect spot for a girls weekend getaway, and I hope you all will too!
