What you should pack when you’re coming to Tybee Island.
Congratulations! You are coming to one of the world’s best places, a paradise — Tybee Island.
If you are planning to stay at one of Tybee Vacation Rentals (Which we HIGHLY recommend) over 125+ properties we’d like to let you know what they provide, and to let you know what you need to bring.
TVR provides a basic supply of bed and bath linens in each property, but they are not changed during your stay. They also provide a “start-up” set of bath soap, toilet tissue and trash bags but these are not replenished. You may want to bring more towels, soap and personal items. If you plan on visiting the beach, you need to bring your beach towel or mat. Better yet, buy one on Tybee and you’ll have a great souvenir from your trip.
As an additional convenience, TVR furnishes each property with some housekeeping supplies. Setup includes a small supply of dishwasher soap, trash bags, and laundry detergent to get you started. These are presented in a courtesy welcome cooler which also contains postcards, travel brochures, a popcorn bag, a one-pot coffee pouch, a Chix dishcloth, and other goodies!
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING: Any special cooking equipment, long distance calling card, radio and batteries, flashlight, food and condiments, personal toiletries, paper products, beach towels or extra towels, cleaning supplies, trash bags, dishwasher soap, dish towels, laundry soap, beach toys/chairs, cameras, coolers, sunscreen, and an emergency and first aid kit.
We have a service available that will pre-shop for you and bring your groceries and other items to your unit so they are there when you check in. We do have a grocery store on the island–Tybee Market IGA–and they are open from 8:30-9:00 M-Sat and 8-8 on Sunday.

If you need baby equipment, you need to bring that as well, or you can rent it from Tim’s Baby Rental at 912.786.TIMS or Baby Gear USA at 912.598.2070.
If you are flying to Tybee, we recommend that you rent a car. The cab fare from the airport to Tybee is at least $50 one way plus additional fees for additional people. You can rent a car just as cheaply and have your own transportation. TVR has a partnership with Enterprise Rental Cars and you can rent a car at a discount price. Contact us for more information.
